The chief commissioner of the Gijón national police station, Dámaso Colunga, announced on Tuesday that A man was arrested on Monday for the fatal shooting of another, whose body was found last week in an apartment in Gijon.
This second detainee, arrested in Gijón and Spanish nationalityit is believed that he could be the material author of the crime, suspected of having been motivated by previous disagreements or a settling of scores.
Colunga explained that they understood that the first detainee, a Bulgarian national, was linked to the crime, but that they suspected from the beginning that there was another person more involved. Furthermore, he stated that between the two detainees there were “previous disagreements” and that these are people who belong to a “marginal” environment.
On the other hand, he highlighted that of five stab wounds that the victim received, only one was fatal. Furthermore, he indicated that, based on initial investigations and autopsy results, it appears that only one weapon was used.
On this subject, he explained that he had gone to Gijon a team from the Scientific Police, “real specialists” in this type of case due to the number they handle each year. The victim and those arrested are in their fifties.
