THE Civil Guard located this Monday, November 25, the body of missing fisherman four days ago, when he fell into the sea from his boat, between Canet de Mar and Calella. The victim is a neighbor of Arenys de Mar78 years old, who had gone out early in the morning to fish for squid.
As reported by the Armed Institute, it was yesterday afternoon when someone reported the discovery of a lifeless body on the beach of Sant Polin the municipality of Castell d’Aro (Girona). Around 8:30 p.m., the body was removed and officers verified that it was indeed the missing person.
During all these days, members of the Civil Guard and the service of the Special Underwater Activities Group (GEAS) searched for him by sea and land. A device for which the maritime rescue helicopter was also mobilized as well as several crews from the Generalitat firefighters and members of the local police and the Mossos d’Esquadra.
