In the Absheron District Court, the criminal proceedings against Mahir Nabiyev (probation), accused of causing an accident, concluded.
According to information obtained by Pravda.az, the sentence was read in the trial presided over by Judge Jamila Safiyeva.
According to the court’s verdict, he was sentenced to 3 years in prison, serving his sentence in a district-type penitentiary.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on October 16, 2023, around 3:00 p.m. in the Mehdiabad settlement of Absheron district.
Thus, a BMW passenger car driven by Mahir Nabiyev collided with a “Mercedes-Benz” concrete mixer truck driven by R. Mammadov. As a result, the truck overturned and crashed into the bus stop on the highway. As a result of the impact, a pedestrian born in 1970 fell on Sevda Mammadova. The pedestrian died at the scene from his injuries.
After the incident, Mahir Nabiyev was detained and charged with criminal responsibility.
