The government accuses Judge Peinado of “doing nothing” for six months against Sánchez

Government continues to question judge’s actions Juan Carlos Peinado against Begoña Gómez during the institutional press conference after the Council of Ministers.

The minister’s spokesperson, Pilar Alegriaaccused the judge of “pedaling into nothingness” and insisted on the fact that “there is no prosecution” against the wife of the President of the Government.

Alegría once again expressed confidence that the case will be archived, as it lacks legal basis, and insisted that it is based on complaints from far-right organizations, with press cuttings and despite two reports from the Civil Guard which guarantee that there is no criminal matter in the actions of Begoña Gomez.

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, ordered State Attorney file a complaint against the judge for prevarication, which was joined by another from Begoña Gómez for revealing the secrets of the trial. Both initiatives are still awaiting the decision on their admission for processing before the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid.

In Moncloa there is unease due to the delay in the decision of the Provincial Court of Madrid on the request for archiving of the file, motivated by a material error when a document was not attached.

The Minister of Digital Transition, Oscar Lopezuntil recently Sánchez’s chief of staff, suggested intentionality on the part of Judge Peinado, calling the case a “political setup.”

“Presumably, a provincial court asks an investigating court to send it the entire file for a decision. The court does not send everything and, in particular, it does not send or mention a very important document to solve. White and in a bottle,” he said. this Monday on social networks.

On this subject, the minister’s spokesperson avoided any comment.

The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, a career judge, defended the ability of state powers to issue critical opinions towards each other. In other words, he argued that the government could question the actions of judges.

“Any power of the State can be the subject of criticism, within the limits of respect and education,” he declared. He even assured that it was about “democratic health”.
