The Gulag History Museum temporarily suspends its work starting November 14. This is stated in a message from the institution on its social network page.
“As a result of an inspection of the museum carried out by specialists from the Center for Construction Experience, Research and Testing, fire safety violations were identified. According to the conclusion, they pose a threat to the safety and comfort of museum visitors and must be removed.” – he explained in the museum.
Those who purchased tickets for events and exhibition visits are promised a refund when contacted by phone and email.
The museum was founded in 2001. The first permanent exhibition was located in a house in Petrovka; Since 2015, the museum has been located in a building on 1st Samotechny Lane.
