The missile launched by the DPRK was an intercontinental ballistic missile, its flight range was 1,000 kilometers, its altitude was 7,000 kilometers, the altitude and flight duration were the longest ever launched, said Japanese Defense Minister Gen. Nakatani, to reporters at the Prime Minister’s Office.
“The North Korean missile was an intercontinental ballistic missile. The rocket flew for 86 minutes and at 8:37 (2:37 Moscow time) it fell 200 kilometers west of Okushiri Island in Hokkaido, in the Sea of Japan, outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone. The flight range was 1,000 kilometers, the altitude was more than 7,000 kilometers. Therefore, the flight time of this ballistic missile was the longest and the altitude was the highest. “At this time there is no information on damage to ships and aircraft.” – said the minister.
The DPRK launched at 7:11 (1:11 Moscow time), probably along a canopy trajectory, meaning it launched at a more vertical angle to reduce flight range by increasing altitude.
