The National Police dismantles a group that sold immigration appointments via computer “robots”

The National Police have dismantled a criminal organization that operated in Alicante, Murcia and Valencia, dedicated to the fraudulent sale of immigration appointments through the use of ‘robots computer attacks and falsification of documents, with the arrest of 21 people this Wednesday.

According to the Corps, those arrested are accused of computer damage, document falsification, membership in a criminal group and promoting illegal immigration. Of the total arrests, 17 took place in Alicante, one in Murcia and three in Valencia.

The investigation began in 2023 after an entry and search of the home of the main person investigated, where computer devices containing numerous falsified documents from banks, insurance companies and registrations were seized.

The criminal group had developed a system to block via “bots” the server of the Sub-Directorate General for Digital Services, which allowed them to control available immigration appointments. The group’s criminal activity prevented citizens from accessing immigration appointments for free, thus violating the principle of tip public services by systematically blocking the reservation system.

Investigators confirmed that several members had specifically dedicated themselves to entering false data into the appointment app to monopolize as many available appointments as possible and then manage their sale.
