The shadow of corruption marks the PSOE Federal Congress in Seville. “He has the cell phone messages, the judge is going to see them”noted one of the participants in conversation with other socialist delegates in the agora of the meeting. The group was monothematic.
Not only the basics while waiting for the Aldama affair or that of Juan Lobato and the leaks of boyfriend’s private information of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayuso. At the highest levels too, this is a central theme.
In fact, sources from the PSOE leadership addressed the thorny issue and acknowledged that there could be more compromised photos of the businessman. Victor de Aldamathe commissioner of Koldo affairwith party officials or in training areas. And remember, they never denied the existence of such snapshots.
However, they minimize the photo problem. According to them, the last leaked photo, where we see the businessman at the PSOE headquarters on Ferraz Street, “only proves that he was in the lobby of Ferraz’s headquarters.” There are no more, they point out.
They exclude that it means anything else. In fact, they go on the attack when they explain that the businessman, who accused senior PSOE officials receive envelopes with money”, he also has photos with the former mayor of Madrid and wife of José María Aznar, Ana Botella. Also “with a PP advisor”.
Sanchez and Aldama
In this way they understand, the danger of certain images is disabled -like that of Aldama with the president Pedro Sanchez– this could demonstrate this closeness with the businessman. Or those that might arise.
The PSOE, far from giving more explanations, has decided to go on the offensive on the two major cases of the alleged corruption that stalks him: that of Aldama and his black money payments and that of the data leak on Ayuso’s partner.
On this last question, they appoint the judges. They point out that the boyfriend of the Madrid president has not yet gone to court to to announce. And that “he has been waiting for eight months”.
Meanwhile, they are saddened by their own legal declarations, which come at the worst time. “We open the federal Congress and it turns out that we have Lobato – already former secretary general of the PSOE of Madrid – who parades in front of the media at the Court”, they indicate.
The PSOE believes that it is no coincidence that, just as it opens the key event of its party, the image of Lobato in front of Justice.
This is an argument known to the PSOE, which was already used when Judge Alaya was in charge of the investigation into the ERE case. Then – as today – the socialist leaders ensured that judicial decisions tended to coincide with key party moments or electoral events.
