A woman died during the night from Sunday to Monday in the house fire in Madrid. The event occurred in a 13-story building on Avenida del Ferrol, in the Fuencarral-El Pardo neighborhood, as reported by Emergency Madrid. SAMUR confirmed the death of the woman, on whom cardiopulmonary recovery maneuverswithout health workers being able to save his life.
The fire originated from the 11th floor of the building, which was the only one affected by the flames. Eight fire crews rushed to the scene. they evacuated the neighbors from the upper floors to the roof of the property, while those on the lower floors exit via the stairs.
The fire chief, Rodrigo Barredo, explained that once there, the troops fed the dry column of the building and that it “was well maintained by the neighbors”, which allowed them to “quickly raise the water to the 11th floor and attack the fire effectively“.
“The stairwell from the 11th floor was smoky“, we proceeded to ventilate the stairwell and once we had the situation under control and the stairwell was clean, we proceeded to resettle people in their homes, measuring that the conditions air was adequate,” he said.
