The 25th Cascajares capon auction raises 130,230 euros for the benefit of Nuevo Futuro and Casa Caridad Valencia

THE The Cascajares Foundation raised 130,230 euros in the XXV edition of the Capones de Cascajares charity auction in favor of Casa Caridad de Valencia and Nuevo Futuro, which will each receive 50 percent of the amount. The event, organized at the Sala Barceló in Madrid in front of almost 400 people, was presented by Anne Igartiburu, Leo Harlem and Zapata Tenor. The event was attended by Infanta Elena de Borbón and her daughter Victoria de Marichalar, who wanted to support with their presence the important social projects of the Palencia company.

In this twenty-fifth edition, nine capons and two turkeys were sold for 83,500 euros. Participants also took part in the draw for several dozen Cascajares products and donated an amount of 16,740 euros at the entrance. To this amount were added donations from the zero line and those from businesses.among which the 10,000 euros offered by the “la Caixa” Foundation stand out, which was once again the main sponsor of the event. Furthermore, as is usual in recent editions, a bundled offer has been organized for “Mowgli”, a capon raised among turkeys who will be “pardoned” again for another year.

Josemi Rodríguez-Sieiro, head of the Cascajares Foundation, auctioned off a turkey bearing his name for which 7,000 euros were raised. In addition, the record for the highest bid for a capon was exceeded, 15,000 euros, which was awarded to the “Supercalifragilisticexpialidoso”. “Solidario” was sold for 7,300 euros and the turkey “Boss V” was paid for 6,500 euros. The “Teatro Barceló” was highly applauded, reaching a maximum bid of 7,000 euros. and it was The auction of another record capon, “Ibérico”, which brought in 10,000 euros, was a lot of fun “sponsored” by Victoria de Marichalar.

The bids varied between 5,000 and 15,500 euros for certain birds put up for auction, raised in the wild and chosen for this charity sale for the quality of their meat, their breed, their plumage and their weight (between 5 and 7 kilos). The specimens were on display throughout the event in the central courtyard of the Barceló Theater, reports Ical.

In this edition of the auction, Jamones Aljomar, Dulces el Toro, Quesos El Pastor, Jamones Blázquez, Cillar de Silos, Fundación Mahou San Miguel, Agroturia and Reale Seguros collaborated selflessly.
