The deputy leader and deputy secretary general of Hezbollah of Lebanon, Naim Qassem, delivered his first speech since the assassination of its leader Hassan Nasrallah Friday in a massive Israeli bombardment of the southern Beirut suburb known as Dahye, ensuring that they will continue the path of struggle and resistance: “We will emerge victorious as we did in 2006.” Likewise, he assured that they were readys for Israel’s ground incursion into Lebanon and sent a message of tranquility to the country.
“We are doing everything we can and we are confronting the assassinations of forces with alternative forces,” he explained, stressing that his leadership will have an easy path because the structure of his organization is solid. “Israel will not be able to end our military force. Our power is greater,” he added. Furthermore, he said that Hezbollah is ready for a “land incursion”: “If Israel decides to enter Lebanon by land, we are ready.”
“The election will be easy and because it is clear and with one heart,” he said, specifying that the appointment of a new secretary general will be based on “the mechanism within Hezbollah”: “We will elect the leader as soon as possible.” Finally, he called for the unity of the country and thanked the entire country for its collaboration after the Israeli attacks.
