Even if it’s far away, Charles Leclerc still has options title in the Formula 1 world championship. Max Verstappen leads and Lando Norris is his immediate pursuer. But at Ferrari they are not throwing in the towel and think that equality could give them a chance.
It is for this reason that during the “Motorsport Week” they asked Carlos Sainz if he accepted Ferrari’s team orders to help Leclerc continue to fight for this championship.
And Carlos is clear about that. Yes, he will do whatever it takes to help his people. “If one day the team asks me, I have always been a team player and I will do it”» declares the Spanish driver before the United States Grand Prix in Austin.
Of course, this situation has not happened yet: “Nothing has been discussed due to probability at this time.”
“I think if you look at the numbers and everything, everything is quite far away and we will have to wait and see,” admits Sainz.
Leclerc has already added two victories so far in the championship. One less than Norris. And even though Ferrari has been one of the most dominant cars in recent times, we are still far from the fight between Max and Lando, the two big favorites for the championship.
