The Socialist Party continues in its apparently normal and calm line after the declaration before the Supreme Court of Juan Lobato, the former general secretary of the socialists of Madrid, as it faces the most important event for the socialists : the Federal Congress this weekend. The first vice president and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, said on Friday that the party was “very calm”, although he assured that he does not know at the moment the content of the notarial deed and defending that everything the party does “It’s true”.
This was expressed by Montero in statements to journalists at the Palace of Congresses in Seville, before the start of the 41st Federal Congress of the PSOE and after the testimony of Lobato as a witness before the High Court, where he delivered the notarial deed with messages with Moncloa. “We are fully aware that everything we do is absolutely correct and that is why we are very calm on this issue,” declared number 2 of the PSOE.
As revealed by laSexta, which had access to the messages exchanged between Lobato and Pilar Sánchez Acera, Moncloa sent the former leader of the Socialists the confessions of Ayuso’s boyfriend without a watermark before publishing them in the press. Questioned several times on this subject, Montero only limited herself to emphasizing that “We must let the legal processes take their course” and that he respects the “judicial investigations”: “Maximum collaboration”. He also insisted on the fact that he does not currently know the notarial deed that the deputy provided because, as he clarified, it is in preparation for the PSOE Congress.
Following the arguments of the government and the socialists since the investigation into revealing secrets became known, the minister maintained that it could not be “divert attention“because that” comes from the fact that the president of the Community of Madrid is lying about the situation in which her partner finds himself.
He accuses Feijóo of “putschist speech” and defends Cerdán
Montero, for his part, also accused the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, of “instrumentalizing justice” and leading a campaign “coup speech” against the President of the Government and Secretary General of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, and defended the “legitimation of activism” to serve as leader of his party. Thus, the first vice-president responded to Feijóo who declared that if the PSOE is a “sovereign party, of its members, what it must do is to throw to Pedro Sánchez.
She said Sánchez “was elected in the primaries by the men and women who make up this organization.” The socialist leader criticized the fact that what Feijóo is proposing is “that Pedro Sánchez leaves his position as president and general secretary of the PSOE”, and stressed that this seems to her “a speech of a coup d’état, a speech of authoritarianism, which “does not allow democracy to shape the leadership of each organization.”
Montero defended that Sánchez “has the affection, the warmth, the respect, the legitimization of all the activism of Spain”, and that he suffers “an attack carried out by right-wing and far-right organizations, exploit justice and provoke situations” based on “hoaxes, lies” and “disinformation in which no one even provides proof of what they say”. And he added that Feijóo acts as spokesperson for Victor de Aldama: “The words of a criminal cannot be an element on which we oppose.”
Regarding the continuity as organizational secretary of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán, accused of having allegedly collected money from Aldama, assured that “he hopes and wishes May he continue for many years as he has been one of the best”. “This Congress elects the executive. But I tell you that the PSOE has a great organizational secretary committed to Spain, he works hard and has all my votes and the recognition of the entire party given the difficulty of his position” , he defended. .
