“Consensus” between the four rectors and the regional government, which will work on a “viable” plan with the objective that the degrees can be taught during the 2026-2027 academic year
This Wednesday, the Junta de Castilla y León gave its approval to the implementation of the medical degree in the universities of Burgos and León after a meeting between the four rectors in which the “consensus” required by the Executive autonomous was obtained.
This was stated after the meeting by the Minister of Education, Rocío Lucas, who indicated that from now on the universities and his department will work hand in hand so that the study plans proposed by Burgos and León have “technical viability”. the 2026-2027 academic year.
The existing faculties will “support” the new ones in certain aspects such as the teaching staff, also indicated Lucas, who estimated between 70 and 100 students who could begin their studies in the first year in León and between 40 and 70, in León. the one from Burgos.
The agreement between the four public universities and the Council will involve, in exchange for the Usal de Salamanca, a veterinary implant and the UVa de Valladolid, a pharmacy, although there is no date yet for its implementation.
