Iran asked the UN to intervene and avoid an escalation in the Middle East

Iran’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Said Iravani, called on the UN Security Council to intervene in the situation with Israel and avoid a large-scale war in the region.

He also warned that Iran’s response to any act of aggression against Tehran “will be swift, decisive and stronger than before.”

Meanwhile, the Associated Press reports that the UN Security Council, at the request of France and Israel, has scheduled an emergency meeting on the worsening situation in the Middle East for Wednesday at 10:00 (17:00 Moscow time).
