The remains of Bebel García, the Depor right winger whose ideology led to the firing squad, have been identified

Xosé María Palacios’ grandfather was a baker for the CNT union and was one of the young people from La Coruña shot by the Francoists. “When there was a strike, the bakers would make a batch for the poor,” explains Palacios, while ensuring that these actions defined what the union was. Despite this, they killed him for his ideals, just like the footballer.

The athlete was so important to the Galician city that former socialist mayor Paco Vázquez He dedicated a street – “Rúa Hermanos de la Lejía” – in his honor. From now on, in addition to a street, Bebel will be able to have an identified grave, like many others.
